2022 aawa regional choice award
In 2019, 10 years after doing hair and makeup part-time, I made the decision to leave my corporate job and focus on doing what I love full-time.
I started KO Beauty 5 months before the world shut down. I was terrified of failing - all the time and effort I put into changing my life, building my brand, and trying to get my name out there could be for nothing.
As scary as it was, I never gave up. When I think back, that was never even an option. I had a job to do - these brides needed me for their special day, and honestly, I needed them.
The question I continuously get from friends and family is “Are you happy with your career?”
And the honest answer is - I couldn’t be happier. I love what I do. I love getting to meet new people, make connections, and make people look and feel beautiful each day. There’s no better feeling.
So this is so much more than an award to me, it resembles 3 years of tough work, laughter, tears, early mornings, long drives and lots of coffee.
Thank you, to the amazing couples who voted for KO Beauty. It has been an absolute honor working with you and thank you for choosing me to be a small piece of your special day! I will forever be grateful.
Now, who’s ready for the 2022 wedding season?!
emo 2000’s
My teenage angst years were at the pinnacle of early 2000s ‘emo’ or ‘scene’ music. While many left school and rushed home to watch TRL, I ran to my desktop computer, fully loaded with Windows XP, and immediately logged into Myspace.
Depending on the day I had at school, I may have changed my Top 8, my profile photo or both if I was feeling spicy.
I found this playlist on Spotify a while back and had it on repeat for months. Then, it hit me.
I need to share this embarrassment with the world.

A little insight to my life as a stepmom to a 7 year old boy :-)
For those of you who don’t know, Caleb is my 7 year old stepson.
In early 2020, he asked me if he could be a YouTube star for his 6th birthday.

Prism Makeup / Supreme Seductress Eyeshadow Palette
This has been my go-to eyeshadow palette for over a year. The colors are super pigmented but go on soft and smooth for optimal blending. You can find their products on Amazon for around $10/pallette!
Anyone who has sat in my chair knows how obsessed I am with this product! I use it on literally everyone, especial my lovely long hair guests whose hair loves to tangle the second water touches it!
This product not only detangles, but cuts down your blow dry time and protects your hair from heat and environmental damage!
No wonder they call it “the wizard.”
I am obsessed with this table top ring light! I have it on my vanity and use it everyday for hair and makeup applications as well as when I film my silly IG videos!
It also has a bluetooth remote so you can start/stop videos and take selfies HANDS FREE!!
(PS - this is how my family was able to manage taking our own holiday card photo…)
As someone who has given and received hundreds of spray tans, this product extends a tan like no other!
All you have to do is mix these drops in with your everyday body and/or face moisturizer, then evenly blend into your skin. There’s no shower required afterwards!
I notice that the color continues to develop for about 24 hours and depending on how many drops you use, the color will be more/less noticeable. (I use "‘dark.”)
One con - with more drops comes that “spray tan” smell… but if you use a fragranced lotion, it is well hidden.
I do this once each week and the color lasts perfectly without streaking!
10/10 would recommend!
